My mum, Sue, lived with Multiple Sclerosis. Fiercely independent, she still needed help, and my dad stepped in as her carer - a role that, while done with love, must have been exhausting. I often wish I had supported him more. In 2023, two loved ones, Lou and Lara, were diagnosed with terminal cancer - one overseas, one interstate. I wanted to be by their side, to offer more than just calls and flowers- but with a young family and full-time work, I simply couldn't.
In 2019, my partner and I began our own parenting journey, we faced the same struggle so many do — sleep-deprived and needing support, we couldn't access because our village lived oceans away. As we had previously emigrated to Australia. We Got You exists for people like us, for moments like these - when presence is impossible, but love is not.
